Early Life and Education

Sean was raised in his birthplace by his Japanese father Chuck and Chinese mother Miya Lew, Sr. of yet unknown professions, two sisters named Serris Lew (who is also an accomplished dancer) and Sarah Lew, although their ages are unknown. Along with his sisters, he also co-founded an online shop named “Lewster”, on which they sell merchandise revolving around the brand name. As per his education, details concerning his high school and/or college are unknown, while there is the fact that he has been noticed for the dance skills that he acquired at the Mather Dance Studio in California, which he still attends regularly.

Career

Lew first rose to modest fame when a video of him dancing to “Applause” by Lady Gaga surfaced online, to which media users reacted with overwhelming positivity. His face and name took the internet by storm, and he was soon sought-after by numerous producers, making his TV series debut as a dancer in an episode of “Glee” in 2010. The next year, he was seen in Seattle auditions of “America’s Got Talent,” then appeared as a dancer on a TV special in 2012, and as himself in an interview in a documentary in 2013, in which year he was also a guest in “The Queen Latifah Show.” In 2014 he was featured in another special, while he also obtained two supporting roles, one in a video short and another in a TV series; he lent his voice to “Penguins of Madagascar” for an unlisted character and was thus uncredited. He made his film debut in 2015 as a dancer once again, in “Breaking Through.” With another three screen appearances in 2016, Sean has a total of nine roles, while he has appeared on the screen as himself numerous times. Lastly, he was featured in “Dance-Off Juniors” as a contestant in 2016, along with his dance group.

Although Sean rose to fame as a dancer, it looks like he garners interests in other professions as well. He says that he has loved cooking since he was very young, and he now wants to show the world the recipes that his mother taught him, so he now hosts his own cooking show. Sean can be seen making food on Beast Network’s “Cooking with Sean Lew”, on which he re-creates his mother’s culinary ideas, the most famous of which are monkey bread and deep fried burgers.

Dance Crew Member

Aside from the crew assembled at the dance school he attends, Sean is also a member of the famous “immaBEAST”, a crew which has performed alongside Mariah Carey, and even at the White House on one occasion. They gained recognition after they recorded their dance cover of the song “Dope” by the rapper Tyga.

Thus far, it doesn’t look like Sean Lew has been dating anyone. He was rumored to be in a relationship with a certain Sophia Lucia, but these were soon dropped. As for Sean’s own words (or the lack of them), it looks like he is single and not interested in anyone at the moment.
