Early life and education
Flex was raised in New York City alongside his brother Dwayne, by their parents Robert Whitehead and Alethia Knox; he hasn’t shared a lot about his family, as he respects their privacy, but it’s known that his brother has passed away.
He became interested in dancing when he was around six years old, and spent the following decade practicing it. Flex was around 17 when he was nicknamed ‘Flex’ by the people who saw him dance at night clubs in New York City; he then began working as a dancer for the rap group Salt-n-Pepa, and toured with them for three years.
