In 2001, she signed with the company Wilhelmina Models after attending a modelling convention, but two years later she switched to Ford Models, and was soon already appearing in various publications, including “YM Magazine” and “Vogue” magazine in which she was profiled in 2007. In 2009, she was featured in an editorial of “Glamour”, entitled “These Bodies are Beautiful at Every Size”, and has displayed her abilities with other plus-sized models such as Kate Dillon, Amy Lemons, Crystal Renn and Jennie Runk. In 2010, she appeared as a part of a controversial Lane Bryant television commercial which was covered by “The Huffington Post” and the “New York Post”, and was a guest in “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” to address the supposed controversy.

Later Career

In 2010, Ashley appeared in an editorial for “Bust” magazine, before appearing in numerous of Levi’s campaigns, including as a part of a collection with Rachel Clark and Anais Mali, and another with Marquita Pring. Her work continued over the coming years, becoming a part of Marina Rinaldi campaigns as well as work for Addition Elle. Other clients she’s had include Evans, Hanes, Target, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s. In 2013, she designed her own lingerie line for Addition Elle, which is a well-known plus-size clothing retailer.

In 2014, she appeared on the covers of Elle Quebec and Harper’s Bazaar. The following year, she took part in an advertisement for the annual swimsuit issue of “Sports Illustrated”, in which she was one of the first plus-sized models to appear as a part of that issue of the magazine. Writing Work and Charity Work

One of Graham’s latest endeavors is writing, and she released a book in 2017 entitled “A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like”. In the book, she details her experiences as a model, and advocates body positivity. She also details on how body image will continue to evolve over the coming years.

She is a frequent guest at various high schools, where she talks about body image and acceptance. She’s also travelled around the world to participate in various charitable endeavours, including with the Themba Foundation for humanitarian missions in South Africa. She has also given a TED Talk, and is a proponent of the Heath at Every Size movement.
