Early Life and Education

Spent her childhood in Windsor, where she was raised by her parents, but other information about her family is not available to the media, except that they moved to the Canadian west coast. Regarding her education, Katie attended Eric Hamber Secondary in Vancouver, and upon matriculation went to Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. Before deciding to become an actress, Katie trained in ballet for 12 years, but unfortunately had to change her vocation due to a back injury.

Career Beginnings

Katie’s professional acting career started in 2010, when she landed a small role as Jill in an episode of the FOX sci-fi series “Fringe”, which was followed by her debut film appearance as Emily in the TV film “Tangled”. Afterwards, she guest-starred as Minka in the USA Network detective comedy-drama series “Psych” (2010), Maisie MacDonald in the Canadian drama series “Endgame” (2011), and as Ellie in the Syfy sci-fi series “SGU Stargate Universe” (2011).

Rise to Fame and “The Killing”

Katie’s breakthrough came in the following year, when she appeared in the role of Frances Saunders in the film “Crash Site: A Family In Danger”, directed by Jason Bourque. “The Carrie Diaries” and “How To Get Away With Murder”

In 2013, Katie won the role of Bonnie in the sci-fi thriller film entitled “After The Dark”, and was then chosen to portray Maggie Landers, one of the main roles in the TV teen drama series “The Carrie Diaries”, a prequel to the hit TV series “Sex And The City”, which aired on The CW channel between 2013 and 2014. Her next major role came in the following year, when she featured as Gabrielle in the comedy film “Premature”, starring alongside Caroline Traywick, John Karna and Kate Kneeland, which was followed by another main role in the ABC legal drama series “How To Get Away With Murder”, portraying Rebecca Sutter from 2014 to 2015.
