Content creators on YouTube can potentially earn advertising revenue from the Google AdSense program, which monetizes their videos depending on their audience or their site content. Over the years, the website has become one of the most popular on the internet with it becoming the main source of videos online. Some of the videos which can be seen on the website include educational videos, documentaries, music videos, video clips, video blogs (vlogs), and many more. Even companies and corporations have decided to invest in their own channels, due to the sheer number of people using the site on the daily basis.

YouTube Content

Jones started making content focused on comedy, and as an anime YouTuber. He enjoys anime and making content about them, but started to do videos which included people or shows not involved in the subject matter. For example, he placed Hillary Clinton in a list of Top 10 Anime Villains and placed the show “Cory in the House” in his Anime review videos. Eventually, he decided to create two channels, with the first focused on anime reviews, with the second dedicated to comedy, featuring vlogs, videos of him playing video games, among other content.

He then created two more accounts, the first being Mumkey’s Gaming Expedition which dealt with his gaming efforts and Let’s Play videos. He then had a fourth channel called Mumkey’s Countdown to Suicide which became his primary vlog channel. He became known as a person with a dark sense of humor, often talking about sensitive or taboo topics. He frequently joked about autism, depression, child molestation, suicide, and death, though doing so to raise awareness on these topics. He eventually became partnered with the company Digibro, and started a podcast called the Insufferable Social Media Argument podcast.

Termination and Recent Projects

Eventually, Mumkey’s attitude and his types of videos were condemned by the group Digibro, which eventually led him being removed from the group, and for his podcast to end. His dark themes on his channel also breached the community guidelines on YouTube several times. In 2018, his main and secondary channels were getting in trouble, receiving two strikes each. A third strike would mean the end of these channels. Not long afterwards, a third strike was given, and all of his channels were shut down.

He appealed to YouTube for the restoration of his channel, but the website declared that his content was disrespectful and sensational. They did not restore his channel, and so he created two new channels to promote the same content, but YouTube figured this out, and shut down these as well. Since then, he’s created his own website on which he uploaded all of his previous videos too. He expressed his intent to continue on as a content creator, and post on the website. He’s also been more active gaming on the streaming website Twitch, which is another means for him to earn income. He’s since then created a new YouTube channel under the name Simian Jimmy, which is focused on more wholesome content.

Personal Life and Social Media

For his personal life, not much is known in terms of Jones romantic relationships – he hasn’t been open about this aspect of his life, and prefers to keep it out of the spotlight. According to him, he is autistic and his videos are a way for him to promote awareness of autism on YouTube. He mentions that most autistic problems are because of people who are misinformed, and that there is nothing wrong with having autism. He has also been open about his struggle with depression.

Similar to numerous YouTube personalities, he is highly active online through accounts on social media, particularly on Twitter on which he has over 42,000 followers, using the platform to express some of his daily thoughts. In recent months, he’s mentioned that he’s been seeing doctors and been in therapy, which has led him to become happier with his life. He posted on Patreon that he is officially retiring from pursuing an online career full-time, and will only do so because he enjoys it. Instead, he will be looking for other means to earn income, and will not spend his life being criticized by eight year olds using their mom’s credit cards, or other people who think they know better about what he is going through.
