The Jungle Book
In the film, Sethi plays the main character Mowgli, who is an orphaned human boy guided by various animal guardians as he discovers more about himself and the world around him. He also tries to avoid the antagonist Shere Khan who is a Bengal tiger. The director of the film, Jon Favreau along with the writers and producers, tried to develop the story as a balance between the original Disney film as well as Kiplings works. Filming took place in Los Angeles and required the extensive use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) to help portray the settings and animals.
The film proved successful critically as well as commercially, grossing over $966 million, making it the fifth highest grossing film of 2016, and the 50th of all time. It received praise for its music, direction, visual effects, and faithfulness to the original works, and at the 98th Academy Awards, the film got the Award for Best Visual Effects. Slight changes in the film were made to depict a more accurate animal environment in India, and the search for the main character Mowgli was the most extensive, spanning numerous countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand. Sethi had to undergo parkour training in preparation for the role.
