Who is Park Shin-hye boyfriend?

Park Shin-hye’s boyfriend is the actor Choi Tae Joon. The two are said to have begun dating at the end of 2017, but it wasn’t confirmed until 7 March 2018 when the two came out publically.

Park Shin-hye’s boyfriend was born in Seoul in South Korea on 7 July 1991, under the zodiac sign of Cancer, so is a year younger than the actress, but that doesn’t seem to bother them. He’s appeared in over 20 movies and TV series, and became popular for his supporting role in the “Padam Padam” fantasy drama shot in 2011, and “Adolescence Medley” TV miniseries in 2013 – he also appeared in the “Missing 9” drama TV series in 2017, and the “Suspicious Partner” comedy TV series in the same year.

Some of his recent works include his first lead role in the “Exit” TV miniseries in 2018; his next lead role will be in the “So I Married an Anti-Fan” romantic comedy TV series.

Park’s early years and her education

Park spent her childhood in Seoul with her parents and her older brother named Park Shin-won, who is a guitar player and a music composer. Park rarely talks about her parents as she appreciates their privacy, and therefore nothing is known of them. She grew up wanting to be a singer, and made her first appearance at a very young age in the “Flower” music video – she then took classes in dancing, singing and acting.

After matriculating from Yougpa Girls’ High School, she enrolled at Chung-Ang University, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre in February 2016.

The start of her career

Park rose to prominence after playing the young Choi Ji-woo in the “Stairway to Heaven” Korean drama series in 2003 – she continued to appear in numerous TV series, the most notable being “Very Merry Christmas” in 2004.

She won her first main role in the “Tree of Heaven” TV series in 2006, attracting positive critiques for her performance, and the next year she debuted in film – “Evil Twin” horror movie – playing two roles in it, the lead character and her character’s sister’s ghost. She went on to appear in the “Prince Hours” romantic TV series, while she also hosted the “Fantastic Partner” show and received the Best Newcomer in a Variety Show Award.

Park’s rise to prominence

Park became somewhat popular and her name could have been seen over the Internet after her role of the heroine in the “You’re Beautiful” romantic comedy TV series – she is also credited with two soundtracks for the movies “Lovely Day” and “Without Words”. She went on to appear in the “Cyrano Agency” film in 2010, a low-budget movie which wasn’t expected to become as successful as it did, actually one of the most selling movies in that year in Japan; thanks to her performance, Park received the Most Popular Actress Award.

In the same year, she had her first voice-over role in the “Green Days: Dinosaur and I” animated movie. In 2011, she appeared in the “Hayate The Combat Butler” TV series, and won the Popular Asian Star Award for her performance, and the following year she played the lead character in the “Don’t Worry, I’m a Ghost” TV series, and won the Best-One-Act Special Actress Award.

Park’s career from 2013 to this day

At the beginning of 2013, she played a supporting role in the “Miracle in Cell No. 7” movie which became very popular in South Korea and got her the Best Supporting Actress Award. In 2014 she appeared in another movie which turned out to be a hit, entitled “The Royal Taylor” – she went on to appear in the “Pinocchio” TV series which was a major success as it accumulated over $5.5 million solely in the US. She appeared in the “Doctors” medical TV series in 2016, and in the “My Annoying Brother” comedy movie, both turning out to be big successes.

Last year in 2018, Park became part of the “Little Cabin in the Woods” reality show, in which she had to live in a cabin deep in a forest. She went on to appear in “Memories of the Alhambra”, which became one of the best rated movies in Korean cable TV history. Park’s most recent role was in the “Call” thriller movie, which is yet to be released.

Other likes and interests

Even though she is leading quite a busy life, Park still finds time to do the things she enjoys, and which are not related to her work. She stated during an interview that she loves flower decorating, and riding a bicycle – she is a huge fan of travelling and had an opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon in 2014, while she has recently visited Paris. She is keen on wake-boarding and does it every summer. Park is also a big animal lover, and has a cute white pet dog.

With whom she had relationships?

Park is quite secretive about her past affairs, and has never shared the names of the men she’s dated, however, rumors say that she was seeing Lee Jong-suk, an actor who appeared alongside her in “Pinocchio”, in 2014 and 2015. They were seen together driving late at night, and were also seen travelling together in England and Hawaii – although everybody thought (and some of them still think) that the two were dating, they denied the rumors in 2015 by saying that they were just very good friends.

Another rumor which has not been confirmed by the actress is her dating the Korean actor Lee Min-ho – the two first met in 2013 and were thought to be dating in 2015 after Park denied the rumors of her dating Lee Jong-suk.

Park’s ideal man and thought on marriage

Thanks to the posts on her social media accounts and her interviews, we have an insight into what Park’s ideal man looks like and behaves – he has to be similar to her father, to value family, to be thoughtful and supportive. He should be around the same age as her, he should love sports, and respect her regardless of anything. The ‘ideal man’ shouldn’t take her out in public places as she doesn’t want people to recognize her, because then her date would be all over the news.

Park stated during an interview that she would like to marry at the age of 31 – she wants to explore the world and learn more things about herself before she settles down. She admitted to have had problems with maintaining relationships in the past, as none of them lasted more than a year, while stating that her career is to blame. Park is currently dating Choi Tae Joon, and it has been more than a year since the couple shared their first kiss – it seems as she has broken the ‘one year’ limit of her relationships, so maybe this one is going to last.

Appearance and net worth

Park is currently 29 years old. She has medium long black hair which she dyes brown, and has brown eyes, but her height and weight are not known.

According to authoritative sources, Park’s current net worth is estimated to be over $5 million, and will continue rising as long as she keeps on acting.

Fun Facts

Park became a model for Visa, the first ever Korean girl to achieve that – she is also a global ambassador for Swarovski jewelry – once again the first girl from Korea to achieve that.

Social media presence

Park is more or less active on the popular social media platforms – she doesn’t have a Twitter account but her Instagram account is followed by over 9.5 million, while she uploaded nearly 900 pictures. There is a Facebook fan page of Park, which is followed by over 2.1 million people.
