Molly was raised in San Francisco by her parents Deborah and Michael McGrath. As for her siblings, the exact count is unknown, but it is public knowledge that she does have a brother named Patrick, who played college football at Princeton University. While there isn’t much information about her early youth, it is a fact that she attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory, and matriculated in 2007. She then enrolled at Boston College, from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and broadcast journalism in 2011. Career

Molly began her career by signing up for an internship at NBC Sports and New England Sports Network immediately after she graduated. She eventually became a production assistant at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut – a position she kept for eight months. In the same year, she also became a web reporter and in-arena host at Boston Celtics basketball games, and had the duty of relaying live in-arena segments to the spectators whenever the Celtics played, as well as reporting half-time updates and performing player interviews. In January 2012, Molly gained a promotion and became the official host of Celtics Now for Comcast Sports Net New England. It’s possible that this is the springboard she needed to improve her career, since after a year and a half of working for Comcast, she eventually made it into the eye of a Fox Sports executive, who apparently recognized her talent as he messaged her on Facebook and offered her a job. At some point in the summer of 2013, Molly became an update anchor of Fox Sports 1 in Los Angeles, then in 2014 came another promotion, as the co-host of daily highlights with Mike Hill. Ultimately, at some point in 2016 she crossed over to ESPN as a sideline reporter and host, where she remains today.
