Robert was born into a family of legal practitioners, to his father Thomas and mother Anne-Dillon. He actually grew up with his three siblings in Lower Makefield Township of Bucks County in Pennsylvania, to where his family moved very early in his childhood. Costa attended Pennsbury High School, from where he matriculated in 2004. It looks like he took an interest in what he does now very early, as he started conducting interviews for the Bucks County Courier Times while he was still in high school, earning around $50 per article. He used this status to invite various stars to perform at his educational institution, including Maroon 5, John Mayer and Eve 6. Meanwhile, he was also covering local professional sports for the student TV station PHS-TV. From 2004 to 2008, Robert studied at the University of Notre Dame, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American studies.
