Shanaya Kapoor Wiki Bio
Indian actress and model Shanaya Kapoor was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on 3 November 1999, making Scorpio her zodiac sign. She’s currently shooting for four upcoming movies, including “Screw Dheela”, “Bedhadak” and “Vrushbaha’, which will also be her first roles in the film industry; Shanaya’s perhaps now only known for being the daughter of Indian actor and producer Sanjay Kapoor.
Education and early life
Shanaya was raised alongside her brother Jahaan Kapoor in Mumbai, by their father Sanjay and mother Maheep Sandhu, who’s a former actress, who’ve been married since 1997.
Shanaya studied at Ecole Mondiale World School, and was passionate about a number of activities during her teenage years, as she enjoyed dancing, appearing in school plays with her peers, and playing volleyball. She became interested in acting at the age of 13, but her parents insisted that she worked on her education prior to launching a career in the film industry.
Shanaya matriculated in 2018, and then enrolled at college, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2022.
Career
In 2020, Shanaya worked as an assistant director on the hit biographical action movie “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl”, in which her cousin Janhvi Kapoor starred, alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi, and which was directed by Sharan Sharma and Ali Khan AK. It follows the life of the first Indian female Air Force officer who fought in the 1999 Kargil War – the movie won six of its 21 award nominations.
Shanaya was featured in a 2020 episode of the talk-show “Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’, as well as in the 2023 TV special “Indian Premier League”.
Love life and relationships
Shanaya prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, but we still know about one man whom she’s been with.
In 2020, she dated Indian non-celebrity Rohan Kurup; they both uploaded pictures featuring themselves together onto their respective Instagram accounts, but it’s believed that they were together for only a couple of months prior to splitting, as they then stopped posting these pictures.
Some of Shanaya’s fans believe her to be bisexual, as they’ve claimed to have seen her and her girlfriend spending time together in public on multiple occasions, but Shanaya’s yet to address this.
She seems to be unattached as of August 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Who is her father Sanjay?
Indian actor and movie producer Sanjay Surinder Kapoor was born in Bombay, Maharashtra on 17 October 1965, making Libra his zodiac sign. He has 46 acting credits, and is probably still known best for playing Abhay in the 2003 musical comedy movie “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Preity G Zinta, and was directed by Nikkhil Advani. It follows an introverted depressed girl who’s befriended Aman, a boy with his own dark secret, and the movie won 45 of its 92 award nominations.
Sanjay was raised in Bombay alongside his sister Reena Marwah and brothers Anil and Boney Kapoor, by their mother Nirmal who was a housewife, and father Surinder Kapoor who was a movie producer; Sanjay’s brothers are both today actors and producers. A number of Sanjay’s nieces and nephews have also launched their careers in the entertainment industry, including Harshvardhan Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and Janhvi Kapoor.
Sanjay studied at a local high school in Bombay, from which he matriculated in 1982; he then worked various jobs to financially support himself and his family in the following 13 years, prior to launching his acting career.
Sanjay’s debut film role was playing Shantanu in the 1995 romantic action “Prem”, and some of his film roles in the remainder of the ‘90s were in the 1995 action thriller “Kartavya”, the 1997 romantic drama “Mohabbat”, and the 1999 romantic drama “Only You”.
In 2002, he starred as Shekhar in the popular action thriller movie “Shakthi: The Power”, which also starred Karisma Kapoor and Nana Patekar, and was written and directed by Krishna Vamsi. It follows a couple as they’re visiting the man’s family in India, and the movie won one of its 11 award nominations. Some of Sanjay’s following roles were in all 260 episodes of the 2003 drama series “Karishma: The Miracles of Destiny”, the 2009 drama movie “Luck by Chance”, and the 2010 action science fiction thriller film “Prince”.
In 2017, he starred as Charan in the hit romantic comedy movie “Mubarakan”, which also starred Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, and was directed by Anees Bazmee. It follows Kartar Singh who’s been asked to raise his two orphaned nephews, and the movie won one of its two award nominations.
