Early Life and Career Beginnings

Rosa started pursuing a passion for dance when she was enrolled in classical ballet classes at the age of four. Thanks to developing the craft at a young age, she became the youngest soloist dancer at Ballet Nacional Dominicano in the year 2002. She attended the Instituto de Cultura y Arte (ICA) and graduating with honors.

After completing her studies, she decided to pursue a career in modelling, and relocated to the United States in hopes of finding better opportunities. She began by representing various big fashion brands, leading her to be featured in XXL as the Eye Candy of the Year. While not originally a part of her plan, she started getting offers to appear in various music videos as a video vixen, and appeared in Omarion’s “Come and Talk to Me”, Chris Brown’s “I Can Transform Ya”, and Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”. While mixing her video vixen work with her modelling work, she was named Cover Model of the Year by the Urban model Awards in 2010.

Later Work

Acosta received another award from the Urban Model Awards in 2012, and the same year she was named the hottest Eye Candy of All Time in a poll created by the magazine “Eye Candy”. She also found acting work, which was one of the careers she wanted to pursue, being cast in “Still a Teen Movie” portraying the role of Liz. She also appeared in the television series entitled “Los Blancos” playing Sophia Blanco.

Other acting work she’s done include the film “Bird”, the television series “The Playboy Morning Show” and “Façade: Chapter 4”, and she also makes regular appearances in the MTV show “Wild ‘N Out”. Thanks to her popularity, she’s received numerous endorsements, such as  in 2012 becoming the brand ambassador of Moriche Palm Diet, the face of 9FIVE eyewear, and of Smoke Liquor the following year.

Recent Projects

In 2015, Rosa started to focus more on fitness-related endeavors, and also started to venture into business, launching her own clothing boutique named Cossamia, which is located at 7600 Melrose Boulevard. She also created an online website to match her physical store, complemented in 2017 by launching her own perfume called “Rosa” by Rosa Acosta Perfume.


The first known relationship Acosta had was with rapper Soulja Boy According to reports, the two met in 2009 and after a few months became engaged, however, the engagement only lasted around three months before breaking up. She dated reality television personality Rob Kardashian in 2011, which included appearing in the TV series “Keeping up with the Kardashians”. In 2016, it was reported that she dated Omarian Grandberry briefly, and there were also rumors that she was dating Nikki Mudarris, though this was never confirmed. The following year, she was linked to rapper French Montana who’s also known to have a history with Khloe Kardashian. However, their relationship was never confirmed, regardless, Rosa is still officially single.

Family and Personal Life

Rosa grew close to her grandparents, who raised her for the most part after she moved to the United States, as only she and her single mother moved to the United States, as her mother wanted to find greener pastures. Since pursuing her career in modelling, Rosa’s mainly lived on her own, initially in Pennsylvania before moving to New York. Prior to finding the numerous gigs she has now, she had to make ends meet working as a bartender.

Her brother is a disc jockey named DJ Smoke. He’s released several albums under his name including “D Mack” and “It’s Weezy Baby”. He’s also released numerous singles over the course of his career, including “New York Represent”, “Keep it Moving”, and “Dancing Feet”.
