Who is Peter Doocy?
Peter Doocy was born on the 21st July 1987, in New Jersey USA, and is a Fox News Correspondent, who came to prominence from appearing in a number of daily news talk shows on Fox News, such as “Fox Report” (2012-2017), and “Fox and Friends” (2006-2018), among many other shows. He is also recognized as the son of Fox News anchorman Steve Doocy.
Early Life, Parents, and Education
The son of Steve Doocy, a famed Fox News anchorman and author, and his wife Kathy Gerrity Doocy, Peter grew up in New Jersey with his siblings, Mary and Sally. Following his successful completion of high school, Peter enrolled at Villanova University, however, encouraged by his father, Peter also took training at Fox’ partner site “The Palestra” as a sports reporter. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Peter officially joined Fox News Channel, taking the role of an assignment reporter.
Career Beginnings
Peter’s first assignment was to report from New York City’s Times Square during the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Gradually, his role improved over the years and he was given new assignments and positions, becoming a Fox News Correspondent.
Rise to Prominence
As his role was becoming greater, his popularity soared, and he has been given special assignments. Day by day he would report from various events for Fox News, among others covering the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, report on former vice-president Dick Cheney’s heart transplant surgery in March 2012, and conducting the one interview with the man who killed Osama bin Laden, Robert O’Neill, a retired Navy SEAL – his exclusive interview was the most viewed special documentary in Fox News Channel history. He progressed further and started appearing in numerous daily talk shows on Fox News, including taking over his father’s role in “Fox & Friends”, and contributing to such shows as “America’s Election HQ”, “The Kelly File”, “America’s News Headquarters”, “Outnumbered”, and “Fox News Sunday”, among others.
Continual Success
In recent years, Peter has continued quite successfully, though he had a minor accident on the job when he asked U.S. Senator John McCain, “has your relationship with the president frayed to the point that you are not going to support anything that he comes to you and asks for?” John McCain responded to him saying that it was a dumb question and saying that he serves as a senator for Arizona and that he isn’t resigning his position just if he doesn’t agree with the President in some political ideas. Nevertheless, Peter has successfully continued his career at Fox News.
