Darius Dobre wiki bio and early life

Darius was born to Boz Mofid and Aurelia Dobre and has three brothers named Cyrus, and Marcus and Lucas who are identical twins. He had a normal childhood and was quite sociable, playing football and basketball but only for fun and has never competed.

After he matriculated from a local high school, he enrolled at Towson University and graduated four years later with a bachelor’s degree.

Most people are focused on Darius’ YouTube career, and don’t notice that his mother is a world champion in gymnastics. Aurelia was born on 16 November 1972 in Romania, and became the world champion on the balance beam in 1987, when she was only 15 – she has also won bronze medals for floor exercise and the vault. She competed in the Summer Olympics in 1988 for the Romanian team, when they won a silver medal – unfortunately for her, she had two serious injuries which marked the end of her gymnastics career.

She moved to the US in 1991 and sometime next year married Darius’ father, Boz Mofid who is an Iranian gymnastics coach.

Aurelia was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in May 2016.

YouTube career and rise to prominence

Darius’ career began the moment he launched his YouTube channel “Dobre Brothers” with his three brothers – although none of them expected the channel to grow this big, Darius was pleasantly surprised when he realized he could make a career out of it. Some of the most popular videos on their channel are “THE BEST DAY EVER”, “WE HAD THE SAME GIRLFRIEND”, and “CRAZY DARES AT THE BEACH” – the best thing about their channel is that they all make different content, while Darius is in charge of making prank videos. The channel was launched on 5 June 2017 and it now counts nearly seven million subscribers, and over 1.1 billion views of all its videos combined.

Darius’ younger brothers Marcus and Lucas were the ones who inspired Darius to start his YouTube channel, as the two were already popular on the Vine platform – their channel “Twinbotz” was followed by nearly five million people before the app was shut down. After Vine was gone, the two decided to launch their “Lucas and Marcus” YouTube channel, on which they mostly upload prank, challenge, and dance videos. It currently counts nearly 16 million followers, and over 3.6 billion views of all its videos combined.

Darius’ presence on other social media platforms

Besides being a YouTuber, Darius is also quite popular for his Instagram account, on which he has over 1.1 million followers while he’s uploaded more than 300 pictures. He is quite active on Twitter as well – he launched his account in October 2013 and has so far gathered over 106,000 followers, and tweeted nearly 1,600 times. Darius is not that popular on Facebook, as he only has around 1,700 fans.
