Who is Raffey Cassidy?

British actress Raffey Camomile Cassidy was born under the zodiac sign Scorpio on 12 November 2001, in Worsley, Salford, England. She has 21 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Denise in the 2022 horror comedy “White Noise”, which starred Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver, and was written and directed by Noah Baumbach. It follows the lives of members of a middle-class American family, and the movie won two of its 26 award nominations.

Raffey’s today quite active in the film industry and is currently shooting for the upcoming movies “The Brutalist” and “The Silence of Mercy”.

Raffey was raised in Salford alongside her siblings Finney, Mossie and Grace, by their father Simon Cassidy and mother whose name remains undisclosed; Simon’s an actor with 10 credits to his name, and is perhaps known best for playing Pep in the 2017 drama movie “Small Town Hero”. Raffey’s brother Finney’s an actor with eight credits, and her sister Grace has 10 acting credits.

Raffey studied acting at David Johnson Drama in Manchester and was seven when she made her debut film appearance, playing Ellen in the 2009 drama “Spanish Flu: The Forgotten Fallen”, which starred Mark Gatiss and Bill Paterson, and was directed by Justin Hardy. In 2012, Raffey portrayed Freya in the episode “The Cloudwatch Club” of the family drama “Stepping Up”, which starred Molly Jones and Rhianna Hosmer, and follows a group of children as they’re progressing from elementary to high school.

In 2013, she played Beatrice Selfridge in nine episodes of the popular historical drama “Mr Selfridge”, which starred Jeremy Piven and Ron Cook, and was created by Andrew Davies; it follows the life of the founder of London’s department store Selfridge, and the series was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score), for Charlie Mole.

In 2012, Raffey portrayed Young Angelique in the popular family fantasy comedy “Dark Shadows”, which starred Michele Pfeiffer and Johnny Depp, and was directed by Tim Burton. It follows vampire Barnabas Collins who’s been set free and has returned to his ancestral home after having been imprisoned for hundreds of years, and the movie won two of its 14 award nominations. Also in 2012, Raffey played Young Snow White in the critically acclaimed action adventure “Snow White and the Hunstman”, which won 13 of its 45 award nominations, including two Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Visual Effects and Best Achievement in Costume Design.

The year 2015 saw her appear in three movies: the family adventure fantasy “Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism”, the action family adventure “Tomorrowland” and the short drama “Rust”.

In 2016, she played Anna in the critically acclaimed romantic action “Allied”, which starred Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt, and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. Set in 1942, the movie follows a Canadian intelligence officer who’s fallen in love with a female French Resistance fighter in North Africa, and it won one of its 11 award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Costume Design.

Raffey’s also known for playing Kim Murphy in the 2017 mystery horror “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”, which starred Herb Caillouet and Barry G. Bernson, and was written and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. It follows a charismatic surgeon Steven who’s taken under his wing a teenage boy who’s now turned sinister, and the movie won seven of its 60 award nominations.

Some of Raffey’s most recent movie roles have been in the 2019 horror mystery “The Other Lamb”, the 2020 short drama “Nightwalk” and the 2023 animated action “Kensuke’s Kingdom” (voice role).

Other credits

While most of Raffey’s fans believe that the young actress is currently focused on her career and isn’t pursuing love, there are today rumors circulating the internet, claiming that she’s been spotted spending time together with her non-celebrity American boyfriend in Los Angeles, California; several fans have claimed to have seen them but no evidence has been provided to support this, nor has Raffey taken the time to address the rumors.

There are also those who’ve claimed that she’s perhaps lesbian, and because of this doesn’t speak about her love life in public, but this hasn’t been addressed by Raffey either.
