Early life and education
Sshe never mentioned having siblings, she is said to be an only child.
After she matriculated from one of the local high schools in London, Julia enrolled at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and graduated four years after.
Career in journalism
As soon as she received her degree, Julia started working for the Morgan Stanley multinational investment bank and financial services company, in their Macro Hedge Fund Sales department. She worked nearly seven years with them, apparently having no idea in the beginning that she would become interested in reporting – she quit her job in March 2010 and two years after, in February 2012, she began working for CNBC as their reporter.
Julia had a chance of covering numerous important events during her time spent at CNBC including the Greek and Italian elections and the Cypriot Bailout, while she also interviewed numerous important politicians and ministers including Beppe Grillo, an Italian political activist and a comedian. Julia also served as the co-anchor of “Capital Connection” and “European Closing Bell”, and has anchored special programs as well. She stayed with CNBC for over five years before leaving in March 2017, taking a break of only a few days before she began working for Bloomberg LP as their news anchor.
It was a somewhat new position for Julia, but as she was already an experienced reporter, it was a lot easier for her to adjust to the position of a news anchor – she used to host two of their shows entitled “Bloomberg Market” and “What’d you Miss”. She was part of the Bloomberg team for a year and a half before moving to CNN International in July 2018 and becoming their anchor – she has been part of the network ever since, and can currently be seen anchoring the “First Move with Julia Chatterley” ET show which begins airing at 9 a.m.
