Ken Dilanian (NBC News) Wiki Bio
Ken Dilanian was born under the sign of Taurus on 19 May 1967, in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts USA, so holds American nationality, and is popular for his career of a journalist and host, particularly working for NBC News.
Childhood and education
Ken became fascinated with news and journalism at a very young age – as soon as he learned the time at which CNN, BBC, and NBC had their news programs shown, he would sit in front of the TV and curiously wait to watch them all. He decided that it was something he wanted to do, to inform the world of all the breaking news, and perhaps to be the one making a change in the world.

His parents became aware of his passion, and were there to support him when he needed it the most. He doesn’t usually talk about his parents as he appreciates their privacy, but he sometimes says how thankful he is to them, trying to motivate him when he felt like quitting. He hasn’t talked about having any siblings, which is why he is considered to be an only child.
After he matriculated from high school, Ken enrolled at Williams College, Massachusetts, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history in 1991.
Career of a reporter
Ken didn’t launch his career as soon as he matriculated from Williams College, and it is not known what he was doing for those six years before he began working for the “Philadelphia Inquirer” as their Rome correspondent, investigative and political reporter. He was part of their team for 10 years, and covered the Iraq war from Baghdad as an independent reporter – he was also working on immigration, terrorism, and social trends in Europe. Ken also worked in the Philadelphia City Hall and the Pennsylvania State House, and won the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism in 2007, after his series on child welfare deaths – he has also won several other state awards for series he has done on assisted living abuses.
In January 2007 Ken left the “Philadelphia Inquirer” and took two months off before he started working for “USA Today” as a State Department and congressional correspondent, and investigative reporter. He spent more than three years with them while covering congress, the 2008 presidential campaign, the State Department and foreign policy.
From April 2010 to May 2014, Ken worked for “The Los Angeles Times” as a national security correspondent, and covered the intelligence community in The Times Washington Bureau. After that, he worked for “Associated Press” in the Washington bureau as an intelligence writer from May 2014 to January 2016, covering the intelligence community.
After that, Ken started working for “NBC News” in January 2016, and has been part of their team ever since – he is serving as their intelligence and national security reporter in the investigative unit, and became popular on the internet thanks to this job. It doesn’t seem that Ken is planning on moving to any other network from NBC News, as getting this job was a dream come true for him.

Personal life and relationships
Ken is very secretive when it comes to his love life, as he hasn’t shared much about his past and present affairs with the public.
However, it’s known that Ken is a married man as he occasionally posts pictures of his family onto his Facebook account. His wife seems to be Asian, and they have two boys together whose names are not known. His fans have stated that they began dating at college, and have therefore been together for nearly 30 years now, however, Ken hasn’t commented nor shared any details. There are no rumors nor controversies surrounding his love life – Ken is a very busy man who probably doesn’t have time for any women other than his wife.
This is Ken’s only marriage, and he doesn’t have any kids from past relationships.
Hobbies and other interests
Ken’s number one passion is reporting, and helping the world become a better and a safer place to live in by exposing things which are illegal or simply not good. While reporting is something he enjoys doing the most, Ken also has other interests. Ken was a very sporting person during those years he spent at college as he was playing volleyball and was very good at it, however, he had to make a choice between volleyball and reporting and it is quite obvious what his choice was.
He doesn’t usually have a lot of free time as there are always projects he’s working on, but he mostly enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their two boys – they go for a walk in parks, watch TV together, and have dinner in a nearby restaurant. Ken is not very fond of watching movies, as he thinks it takes a lot of time which he could spend being productive, and isn’t much of a lover of animals either.
Appearance and net worth
Ken is 52 years old. He has light brown hair and eyes, is 6ft (1.82m) tall, and weighs around 209lb (95kg). He doesn’t have any tattoos or piercings as he doesn’t like them, and they are not something that reporters are supposed to have.
According to authoritative sources, his net worth as of early 2020 is estimated to be more than $1.5 million, and is steadily rising thanks to his work for the NBC News.
Social media presence
Ken is more or less active on the popular social media platforms – ‘more’ because he is very active on Twitter and Facebook, and ‘less’ because he doesn’t have an Instagram account.
Ken launched his Twitter account in June 2011 and has tweeted over 22,500 times. He is also very active on his Facebook account, but seems to be using it mostly to stay in touch with his friends and family.
