Early life and education

As she was growing up, Nicole became very interested in journalism – she used to pretend to be hosting programs when she was only six years old, and continued acting it in her local high school. She worked with the station from March 2006 to October 2007 – just when it appeared that she cannot stay for too long at the same place, she started working for WHDH-TV Channel 7 News in Boston, Massachusetts as their anchor and reporter and stayed with them for the next 11 years.

During her time with the WHDH, she worked as a daily TV host who provided accurate information to the viewers – she was praised for having excellent process management skills as well as organizational skills, and she managed to win an Emmy Award for her work there. Nicole was even active when she was not at the station, as she would post breaking news on her Twitter account, and in that way kept the public updated. She was the one to write stories for several newscasts, and was in charge of handling breaking news and organizing coverage – she worked closely with the public, marketing agencies, business leaders, and in the field of professional healthcare, so had a chance to interview numerous political and government employees and community organizations, as she had to gather enough material to provide topical and precise stories for live broadcasts.

WDHD is an independent TV station based in Boston, and is owned by Sunbeam Television – it is part of a duopoly (when two or more stations in the same city or community share common ownership) with WLVI Channel 56. The stations use the same studio facilities which are located at Bulfinch Place in downtown Boston while WHDH’s transmitter can be seen in Newton.

The channel was founded in February 1982 while it aired for the first time on 22 May 1982 – it used to be Boston’s CBS affiliate from 1982 to 1995 when it switched to NBC on January 2. It lost NBC’s affiliation to WBTS-LD station on 1 January 2017 and now operates as an independent station.
