Who is Isabella Castillo?
Cuban actress and singer Isabella Castillo Diaz was born under the zodiac sign Capricorn on 23 December 1994, in Havana, Cuba. She has 12 acting credits, mostly lengthy main roles in TV series’, and is perhaps known best for starring as Graciela ‘Grachi’ Alonso in all 205 episodes of the family fantasy series “Grachi”, which also starred Andres Mercado and Sol Rodriguez, and follows a witch who’s just moved to a new city and has fallen in love; the series aired from 2011 through 2013, and won a 2013 Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Latin Artist (Isabella).
Education and early life
Isabella was raised alongside her older sister Giselle, who’s today a music teacher and pianist, by their father Jose Castillo who’s a percussionist and mother Delia Diaz de Villegas who’s a singer.
The family moved to Miami, Florida USA when Isabella was two years old, and she was five when she launched her career by singing at one of her mother’s concerts; Isabella instantly fell in love with music, and then went on to study acting, singing and dancing. In 2015 and 2016, Isabella starred as Veronica Saldivar in 135 episodes of the drama “Tierra de Reyes”, which also starred Sonya Smith and Ana Lorena Sanchez, and follows three brothers who are seeking vengeance but have instead found love; the series won a French Soap Award for Best Telenovela.
She next portrayed Tania Sierra in 86 episodes of the 2015 romantic comedy “¿Quién es Quién?”, which starred Danna Paola and Eugenio Siller, and follows the lives of twin brothers who were separated at birth but have now met as adults. The year 2016 saw Isabella appear in the episode “Franky Atrapada sin Salida” of the family drama “Yo Soy Franky”.
In 2017, she starred as Roxana ‘Rox’ Cruz in the romantic sports adventure “Vikki RPM”, which starred Stefano Ollivier and Samantha Siqueiros, and follows Vikki who loves to race cars but is hiding this from her family. The year 2017 also saw Isabella play Marina in the episode “Un Milagro en la Cocina” of the drama mini-series “Milagros de Navidad”, and the following year saw her play Linda Morris in 12 episodes of the thriller “The Inmate”, which starred Ana Claudia Talancon and Ignacio Serricchio, and follows a SPEC OPS who’s infiltrated a Mexican prison to learn more about the men who’ve kidnapped an American politician’s daughter; the series was nominated for five awards.
From 2019 through 2021, Isabella played Amelia in 60 episodes of the fantasy “Club 57”, which starred Riccardo Frascari and Evaluna Montaner, and follows Eva who’s time-travelled to the year 1957 and has fallen in love with Italian man JJ; the series was nominated for two awards.
In 2021 and 2022, she portrayed Ines Navajas ‘La China’ in the popular drama “Malverde: El Santo Patron”, which starred Carolina Miranda and Pedro Fernandez, and follows a Robin Hood-like man who’s become a hero during the Mexican Revolution; the series was nominated for only a single award.
Isabella’s only other TV series role has been portraying Diana Ahumada in 229 episodes (since 2018) of the crime action “El Senor de los Cielos”, which stars Carmen Aub and Rafael Amaya, and was created by Luis Zelkowicz and Mariano Calasso. It follows the life of drug trafficker Amado Carrillo Fuentes, the series has been airing since 2013 and has won two awards.
Roles in movies
Isabella has appeared in only a single movie: she portrayed the lead character Valeria in the 2023 crime comedy “La Usurpadora: The Musical”, which also starred Cecilia Toussaint and Alan Estrada, and was written and directed by Santiago Limon. It follows the lives of identical twin sisters who were separated at birth.

She and Chilean actor and screenwriter Matias Novoa exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony in 2019, attended by not more than 150 people; Matias has 23 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring alongside Isabella in the series “El Senor de los Cielos”, which was also how the two met. The marriage was rather short-lived, as Isabella and Matias divorced in 2021.
There are no other men whom Isabella’s perhaps dated, that we know about, but some of her fans have claimed to have recently seen her in public with her new boyfriend; these rumors are yet to be addressed by Isabella.
She seems to be unattached as of September 2023, was once married to Matias Novoa, and doesn’t have children.
