The Riches of Enzo Amore

How rich is Enzo Amore? As of early-2019, sources estimate a net worth that is at $250,000, earned largely through a successful career in professional wrestling. Since leaving wrestling, he has been focused more on music endeavors, and as he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings

While Enzo was born in Hackensack, he grew up in nearby Waldwick where he attended Waldwick High School, and during his time there played for the school’s American football team. After matriculating, he enrolled at Salisbury University, and played with the school’s Sea Gulls NCAA Division III team as a safety as well as a linebacker from 2007 to 2009, before completing a degree in journalism.

After graduating, he took a number of odd jobs including working as a DJ and a New York Jets ticket salesman, also as a manager for Hooters, and as a piano mover. Prior to working with WWE, he had no wrestling experience whatsoever, but had been training at the Wyckoff, New Jersey gym called DeFranco’s Training Systems since the age of 16, and by chance started training alongside WWE executive and professional wrestler Triple H.

A Path Towards Wrestling

Being a lifelong fan of wrestling, Amore did a video compilation of himself doing exercises and cutting a promo, showing it to Triple H, and the wrestler gave him a chance for a tryout at WWE which resulted in his signing in 2012 under the ring name Eric Anthony, but debuting in the developmental brand NXT as Enzo Amore in the following year as a heel, working as a loudmouth and stereotypical cocky “Jersey Shore” personality. There he formed an alliance with William Morrissey, who performed under the stage name Colin Cassady – they started a tag team together, but he suffered a broken leg while training.

He returned the following year, and continued his partnership with Cassady, participating in an NXT Tag Team Championship tournament, before making an alliance with female wrestler Carmella. They challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championship several times unsuccessfully, and after “WrestleMania 32” the duo made their debut on the main roster and went on to feud with several tag teams, unsuccessfully challenging for tag team titles. During the 2016 WWE Draft, they were drafted to the Raw brand, but it was later revealed that his partner Cassidy – or Big Cass – had betrayed him, ending their wrestling partnership and starting a feud between the two. However, their match was stopped after Cass suffered a legitimate knee injury.

Cruiserweight Title and Departure

In 2017, Enzo moved to the brand “205 Live” to compete in the cruiserweight division, leading him to win the championship, turning heel shortly after. He lost the title to Kalisto before regaining it in a rematch during TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, and successfully defended his title at Survivor Series before becoming inactive due to suffering from influenza. In January 2018, he was suspended following a case of sexual assault, which led to the cancellation of his title defense, and his belt was vacated.

He decided to retire form professional wrestling and move to a music career. He’s used the stage names Real1, and nZo for his music, and has released two songs – “Phoenix” and “Bury Me a G”, and his debut album entitled “Rosemary’s Baby Pt. 1: Happy Birthday”.

Personal Life

For his personal life, not much is known about any of Amore’s romantic relationships. He’s been associated with several women though not in terms of long-term relationships. In 2018, a woman accused him of raping her in a Phoenix, Arizona hotel room a few months earlier, which led to an investigation by the Phoenix Police Department, and suspension due to a violation of WWE’s zero tolerance for sexual assault and harassment matters. He was eventually fired the same day for failing to inform WWE of the investigation. He denied all allegations against him, and the case was eventually dropped due to insufficient evidence.

He is known for his longtime friendship with wrestler Big Cass, William Morrissey. The two had become friends before their employment with WWE, as they played basketball together in Manhattan, New York, nearly a decade before their NXT debut. However, their friendship ended in 2017 after Amore accused Cass of not completing their match after injuring his knee. Despite being out of the company for over a year and no longer doing any wrestling, he continues to stay active in the professional wrestling scene, being interviewed by numerous wrestling publications. He mainly expresses his opinion on the current state of wrestling, and also reminisces on his time working with WWE. He also attended Survivor Series in late 2018 and caused a disruption, leading him to be removed from the venue.
