“The Bold and the Beautiful” is a sister show to another popular soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, with cast members from both shows often crossing over since the early 1990s. The show is set in Los Angeles, and focuses on the Forrester family and their fashion house business called Forrester Creations. It is the most watched soap in the world, having an estimated audience of 26.2 million viewers. It has won 31 Daytime Emmy Awards over the course of its run. Matula played the role of Hope Logan which has notably been portrayed by actresses such as Amanda Pace, but after the rapid aging of the character, she was recast with Matual as the first in line.

Her character is the result of an affair between Deacon Sharpe and Brooke Logan. Her storylines revolved around relationships with former love interests and a rivalry with Steffy Forrester, which is a mirror of the rivalry between their mothers. She played the role from 2010 to 2014 as a series regular, and then announced that she would not be renewing her contract, to find more acting opportunities. Nevertheless, she returned as a guest for two more episodes of the show in the next two years.

Later Projects

Kim had a few projects while working on “The Bold and the Beautiful”, including a guest role in an episode of the legal series entitled “The Defenders”. After her run with the soap opera, she was cast in the film “Dawn Patrol”, which stars her alongside Scott Eastwood and Rita Wilson, and she also had a guest role in the faux-reality television series entitled “Almost Royal” which follows the lives of two British aristocrats visiting the US for the first time.

In 2016, she appeared as a series regular in the Lifetime series entitled “UnReal”. The drama series focuses on Shiri Appleby as a young reality television producer, and was inspired by the independent short film entitled “Sequen Raze”. She was a regular during the second season but was not cast in subsequent seasons as her character’s storyline ended. Her next project would be a main role in 2018’s “LA to Vegas”, a sitcom starring her alongside Dylan McDermott. The show follows the passengers and crew of the budget airline called Jackpot Airlines in their regular flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, however, the show was cancelled after a season. She is set to appear in the upcoming comedy film entitled “Fighting with My Family”, telling the story of the WWE professional wrestler Paige.

For her personal life, Matula is known to be in a relationship with Ben Goldberg; while little information is available about him, it is known that they’ve been together since 2012.
