In 2007, she got her breakthrough role when she was cast as Mikaela Banes in the film “Transformers”, based on the animated series and toys of the same name. In the film, she played the love interest of Shia LaBeaouf’s character, and received several nominations for her performance. She then signed to appear in the “Transformers” sequel “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, and was also set to appear in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” but was not included after making controversial statements against director Michael Bay, and was fired on the order of executive Steven Spielberg. Her next film appearance would come in 2009’s “Jennifer’s Body”, which was written by Diablo Cody, and she then starred in “Jonah Hex” alongside Josh Brolin, but the film was a critical and commercial failure.

Later Work

Megan’s next project would be in the film “Passion Play”, starring alongside Mickey Rourke, but the film had poor reception during its initial screening. It's a testament to my real personality that I would go so far as to make up another personality to give to the world. The reality is, I'm hidden amongst all the insanity. Nobody can find me.
90	There are those who have a Google Alert on themselves and read everything everyone says and then there are those who pretend it isn't happening. I'm one of the latter. I could never pore over what's said about me. It wouldn't work. I'd be a complete lunatic, drug-addled and out of my mind. Instead, I stay in and ignore it all. I'm actually kind of a recluse.
91	There were some evil girls in my school and I went to Christian high school. I was fifteen and everybody knew that my aspiration in life was to become an actress. One girl came to school on Halloween in a black leather catsuit and everyone thought she was Catwoman. She answered, "No, I am Megan Fox." She was making fun of me. I didn't say anything to her. I was really shy. I've always gotten along better with boys. That rubbed some people the wrong way. I was not, ever for a second, popular. Everyone hated me, and I was a total outcast, my friends were always guys, I have a very aggressive personality, and girls didn't like me for that. I've had only one great girlfriend my whole life.
92	I've been afraid of the dark all my life. I leave the lights on all the time and if the light is off, I have to run across the room to get to the switch. I can't walk through a dark room. I'm afraid of what I can't see.

105	[on getting down to 99 pounds while shooting Jennifer's Body (2009)] I decided I would turn myself into a zombie. I got super, super skinny, stayed out of the sun for four months, and got to where I was losing my eyelashes and my eyebrows.

But if you want your girls to feel strong and intelligent and be outspoken and fight for what they think is right, then I want to be that type of role model, yeah.
