The Net Worth of Brenda Venus

How rich is Brenda Venus? As of late-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is over $3 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. She’s also earned a significant amount thanks to her written works, which have been translated into 37 languages. As she continues her endeavors, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Writing Career Beginnings

While Brenda was a college student, she attended an auction at which she purchased a book that happened to contain the address of writer Henry Miller – he was a writer who was known for works such as “Tropic of Cancer”, “Tropic of Capricorn”, and “Black Spring” which were based on his experiences in New York and Paris. He revolutionized a genre of the semi-autobiographical novel that involved reflection, character study, sex and many other elements.

The two became pen pals, and eventually he would become her mentor, while he considered her his muse. He would write over 1,500 letters that were later collected into a book entitled “Dear, Dear Brenda – The Love Letters of Henry Miller to Brenda Venus”. According to writer Ed Millis, she became a source of inspiration to the aging Miller who was in his 80s, and lifted his spirits, giving him a reason to live. Her writing style also improved significantly thanks to the mentorship and communication with Miller.

Acting Career and Playboy

With Venus’ popularity increasing significantly thanks to Miller’s written works and words, many people took notice, and her attractiveness also allowed her to take numerous acting opportunities. One of her first appearances was in the 1967 film entitled “Night Fright”, a horror film shot in Dallas, Texas. More work came for her over the next decade including “An Eye for an Eye”, and “Foxy Brown”.

One of her most notable projects was the Clint Eastwood film “The Eiger Sanction”, a thriller based on the novel of the same name written by Trevanian, telling the story of a history professor, mountain climber and former assassin, who is blackmailed by the government into returning to his old life as an assassin to do one more job. Other projects Venus was a part of include the television movie “The Legend of Valentino”, and films such as “Joshua”, “FM”, and “Deathsport”. In 1986, she appeared for the publication Playboy, being described as the one who had a romantic yet platonic relationship with writer Miller, and in 1997 did a celebrity nude pictorial for the magazine.

Writing Career and Other Endeavors

Brenda would later become the author of books including “Secrets of Seduction of Men” and “Secrets of Seduction for Women”, then in 1998 she started writing a column for Playboy entitled “Centerfolds on Sex”, which would run for over six years. Her books became highly popular and were translated into 37 languages – her publishers E.F. Dutton and William Morrow would send her on a worldwide tour, on which she made numerous television as well as radio appearances. In 2012, she released a novella entitled “Twelve Hours”.

During her birthday, she was also invited by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to Moscow as a guest. She watched a performance of the play about her life entitled “Venus”, in which Olympic Gold Medalist Svetlana Khorkina was cast to play the titular role, with members of the Bolshoi Ballet also cast in the performance. She has been the subject of numerous artists too, including photographer Ken Marcus, former boxer Gary Dobry, and painter Harold Frank. She also produced and directed a film inspired by her books entitled “Love & Sex in LA”, which was marketed with the statement: ‘everything you ever wanted to know about the opposite sex but were afraid to ask.

Personal Life

Despite the numerous stories regarding Venus’ life written in books and through the media coverage of her romantic/platonic relationship with Miller, not much else is known about her romantic life; she prefers to keep that aspect away from the media.

Despite the mysteries regarding her personal life, she is highly active on social media through accounts on Twitter and Facebook, on which she mentions that she is focused on her writing career. She also has a personal website which states that she is a world class authority on eroticism, sexual behavior, and seduction.
