It was directed by Cyrus Mirakhor, starred Myndy Crist, James Denton and John N. Dvorak, and follows a widowed mortician who has received a life-size doll as a gift from her mother, while the doll has now come to life as her deceased husband; the movie won seven of the 13 awards for which it was nominated.
Jo Koy was raised in Spanaway, Washington State alongside his three siblings Rowena Cook, Gemma Herbert and Robert Herbert, by their mother Josie Harrison, and their father whose name remains undisclosed. Jo Koy initially attended Spanaway Lake High School, but after he and his family moved back to Tacoma, he enrolled at Foss High school, matriculating in 1989.
