Kate Snow Bio: Early Life, Parents, and Education

Kate, the daughter of the renowned anthropologist and professor at Pennsylvania State University, Dean R. Snow, grew up in New York and went to New York’s Preston High School. Following her matriculation, Kate enrolled at the prestigious Cornell University, from which she obtained a degree in communications. She then chased a master’s degree and enrolled at Georgetown University, where she studied foreign service/affairs.

Career Beginnings

After she graduated from Cornell University, Kate started looking for her first job in the big corporate world, and she was hired by the NPR as a reporter, and also joined NBC Radio. Kate soon started feeling that radio could only do so much for her career, and decided to try her luck on television. She eventually joined KOAT-TV, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and remained there for three years working as a reporter, before her hard work was noticed by CNN and she received an offer to join the station. Without second thoughts, Kate became a part of CNN in 1998, and spent the next five years honing her skills on one of the most prestigious networks. During her time at CNN, Kate covered major political news, including reporting on events in the White House and Congress.

She remained at ABC until 2010 – during the 2008 presidential race, Kate was named ABC News’ correspondent for the Democrats, reporting on the campaign of the then-Senator Hillary Clinton. Kate continued to progress on NBC, working as guest and co-anchor for several shows; firstly she was named as fill-in and news anchor for “Today”, a position she holds even today, then in 2013 she was promoted to the NBC News national correspondent, while for two years between 2015 and 2017, Kate was the MSNBC Live anchor, but left the post to focus more on NBC.
