The Riches of Lyssa Chapman

How rich is Lyssa Chapman? As of mid-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $500,000, mostly earned through success on television. She worked with her family company for most of her life, but later left to focus on other projects and businesses. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Career

Lyssa is the ninth child of Duane “Dog” Chapman, and is from his third marriage to Lyssa Rae Brittain. Due to sharing names with her mother, she was often referred to as “Baby Lyssa” to help make the distinction. She was raised by her father until she was 10 years old, but then moved with her mother to live in a small Alaskan town called Anderson.

For the next six years, she didn’t have any contact with her father, but later reconnected and decided that she wanted to work with him in the family bail bonds company called Da Kine Bail Bonds. At the age of 19 she became a licensed bounty hunter, and joined his father in numerous tasks. During this time, the business’s work was noticed by television producers, leading to them  starring in the TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” on A&E.

Dog the Bounty Hunter

The series focuses on Lyssa’s father in his work as a bounty hunter. The show is often filmed in Hawaii or Colorado which is Dog’s home state, though there are a few exceptions. The show is a spin-off from his appearance in another show called “Take This Job”, which is about unusual occupations. The show found popularity thanks to the interaction of Dog and his family, who are also his team since all of them are licensed for the work. They go on to track and arrest people who’ve broken their bail agreement, and they also try to counsel them to change their ways. Lyssa started appearing as a regular cast member of the show, staying with the show for its entire run except for the first season.

The show featured her training as a licensed bounty hunter and bail bondswoman, and also tackled various high profile arrests and major events that happened with the family, including the death of Dog’s oldest daughter; even Lyssa’s wedding was covered in the show. The fourth season of the series took a hiatus due to a racism issue with one of the cast members, Duane Chapman. The sixth season had an alleged shooting incident which led to a lot of speculation and lawsuits. The family were said to be shot by a targeted person, though there was not enough evidence to back this claim.

After Dog the Bounty Hunter

The show would run for eight seasons with Lyssa working as a regular cast member for seven, until ending with its final episode airing in 2012. It was not the end for Lyssa’s father, however, as he created a spin-off show called “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt” for the CMT television network, which would run from 2014 until the two decided to leave the network in 2016.

During this second run, Lyssa was no longer a part of the show, and mentioned in an interview that she has no interest in pursuing another television project. She also subsequently retired from working as a bail bondswoman and a bounty hunter.

Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Chapman has two children, the first of whom was born shortly after her 15th birthday. She later had another child from a father who was 24 years old at the time of conception, and who was later arrested for statutory rape.

In 2009, she married Brahman “Bo” Galanti in Oahu, Hawaii and they have a child together. Bo also has children from previous relationships. However, in 2011 Chapman filed for divorce, and a month after filing, she was arrested for assaulting a police officer as well as criminal property damage. In 2013, she released an autobiography called “Walking on Eggshells: Discovering Strength and Courage Amid Chaos” which was co-authored by Lisa Wysocky. In 2018, it was reported that she is now focused on a tanning salon business, and is engaged to her business partner Leiana Evensen, without any details being released. Perhaps Lyssa has finally sorted-out her sexuality? As to any presence on social media web sites, they appear to be devoid of any contribution from Lyssa.
