Then one day, a call from a friend changed her life for good. She moved to Nome, Alaska on the suggestion of Zeke Tenhoff, to join him on his dredging ship and dig for gold in the Bering Sea. Emily accepted his offer, and flew to Nome with just $300 in her pocket.

Emily joined Zeke’s crew on his ship The Clark, and the two developed a relationship that would become more than a friendship. Working together brought them a fortune, but also fame, once the producers of the A&E network decided to offer Zeke, Emily and other gold miners from Nome, including Steve Pomrenke, Ian Foster, and Vernon Adkison, to become cast members of the reality show “Bering Sea Gold”.
