Rosa Blasi’s Early Life, Childhood and Education

Rosa was born on the 19^th December 1972 in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is one of five children of Joyce and Rocco Blasi, with sisters Marina and Tasha, as well as brothers Rocky and Michael. Apart from American, she is also of mixed Hispanic, Italian and Irish ancestry. Interested in acting from a very early age, Rosa dived into the world of acting at the age of eight, when she joined the prestigious Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, Illinois. During her youth, she was also a member of an improvisational comedy troupe, The Second City. Apart from all these, Rosa also attended singing lessons for 13 years, and is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She also attended dancing lessons for five years, as well as piano classes, also for five years. From early childhood, she honed her skills in over 40 theatre productions and musicals, as well as through touring with the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Kenny Rogers. With such a high-profiled theatrical background, it is no wonder that Rosa Blasi has managed to become a successful actress. In 1993, Rosa was appointed as Miss Rockford, while in 2014 she earned the Miss Chicago title.

Rosa’s on-camera debut occurred in 1996, when she appeared in the “High Tide” TV series, which was followed by a support role in the “Married with Children” TV series a year later. In 1997 she was cast for the recurring role of April Beane in the comedy TV series “Hitz”, which led her to appearing in other popular series, including “Frasier”, “Beverly Hills, 90210”, “Grown Ups” and “V.I.P.”.

However, the breakthrough in Rosa Blasi’s acting career occurred in 2000 when she was cast for the recurring role of Dr. Luisa Delgado in TV medical drama series “Strong Medicine”. She reprised this role through the show’s six seasons ’til 2006, appearing in over 130 episodes which gained her a huge dose of popularity. Meantime, her debut big screen appearance came in 2004, when she was cast for the role of Maria in Takashi Shimizu’s mystery horror movie “The Grudge”.

In the course of the next several years, Rosa added several movie and television appearances to her portfolio, including “Eight Days a Week” (2007) and “Next Stop Murder” (2010), and TV series “Lone Star” and “The Whole Truth”. Between 2009 and 2012, Rosa portrayed Ronnie Cruz in the TV sports drama series “Make It or Break It” which was followed by appearing in an episode of the “Hot in Cleveland” series.

Apart from those already mentioned, Rosa also appeared in “The Vagina Monologues” stage play at the Apollo Theater in New York City’s neighborhood of Harlem, and served as a voice-over actor in various radio shows.
