Who is Sarah Wynter?
Sarah Wynter was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on 15 February 1973, so under the zodiac sign of Aquarius and holding Australian nationality – she is popular for her acting career, especially for her roles of Kate Warner in the “24” TV drama series, Beth in “Windfall” TV serial drama, and Keitha in “Flight of the Conchords” TV comedy drama.
Early life and education
Sarah spent her early childhood in Newcastle with her parents Helen Cummings who works in the Newcastle registry of the Family Court of Australia, and who is also a writer, and Stuart Wynter, who was a physician, plus younger brother Brendan. Sarah’s grandmother, Joy Cummings, was one of the most popular women in Australia as she become the first Australia female Lord Mayor.
It was not much of an easy childhood for Sarah – her mother took her and her brother away from the violence of her father, who subsequently killed his second wife Raken, and Sarah’s half-sister Benatia before killing himself – this happened in 1984, when Sarah was 11 years old.
Sarah doesn’t talk much about the time she had spent in high school, as she was not very interested in spending time with her peers. Due to the tragedy which had occurred in her family, she became somewhat detached from the people in her high school, and nobody put pressure on her because they knew the situation.
After she matriculated, she completely focused on her acting career. and didn’t enroll at college.
Career of an actress
Instead of studying, Sarah moved to New York City and took drama classes, as she was determined to pursue an acting career.
Sarah’s career was launched when she won a role in the “Sex and the City” TV series’ pilot episode – she played the first woman who had sex in the series. In the next couple of years, Sarah appeared in a couple of TV series, but nothing big until she landed a role in the second season of the “24” TV drama series – she was praised for her performance and was part of the nomination for the best performance by an ensemble in a drama series. She appeared in all 24 episodes of the second season while she also lend her voice for the “24: The Game” video game released for PC. Some of the other notable roles she has played include those in “The Dead Zone”, “Windfall”, “Flight of the Conchords”, “Blue Blood”, and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” TV series.
Besides TV series, Sarah has also appeared in numerous movies – her movie debut appearance was in “Species 2” , and she went on to appear in “The 6th Day” alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. Some of the other movies Sarah has appeared in include “Three Dollars”, “Dead Like Me: Life After Death”, and “Bride of the Wind”.
Personal life and relationships
Sarah is somewhat secretive when it comes to her love life, and she has only shared a couple of details regarding it. She seems to be a happily married woman today – it is not known how the two first met, but Sarah and Dan Peres exchanged their wedding vows 14 years ago on 20 August 2005. Dan works for “Details” magazine as their editor-in-chief.
The couple has three kids together – their son Oscar Dallas Wynter Peres was born on January 14 when Sarah was 34, and she then gave birth to twin sons Samuel and Julian Wynter Peres on 13 April 2011 when she was 38.
Sarah and Dan were rumored to have divorced several years back, when Sarah supposedly caught Dan cheating on her – rumors were spread across the internet, but neither Sarah nor Dan have addressed this matter, and they are certainly still married.
Hobbies and interests
Sarah is described as ‘a very nice and kind person’ – unsurprisingly, she’s stated how nothing can turn her off quicker than a man being unkind. She spoke of some of her past boyfriends and stated that she will often observe how a man treats a waiter and anybody else who he comes into contact with – she was once dating a man who yelled ‘get out of my face’ to a homeless person, which immediately meant they were not going out on a second date.
Sarah is said to be a big fan of the outdoors, as she is not the kind of person who could spend hours and hours just sitting at home. She was a bit sportive in the past, but has now limited her physical activities – she enjoys sitting on the beach, and is always keen to meet new people. She is a big animal lover, but being a mother of three she does not have much time to dedicate to a pet, which is why she doesn’t have one. She enjoys watching good movies, but now watches them mostly after the day is done and her kids are all asleep.
