Who is Ayesha Minhaj?
Ayesha Minhaj was born in India, and is a lawyer, but perhaps better known for being the sister of comedian Hasan Minhaj, known for his work on “The Daily Show” and his various stand-up comedy specials. He is also primarily responsible for the fame she earned these last few years.
The Wealth of Ayesha Minhaj
How rich is Ayesha Minhaj? As of early-2019, sources inform us of a net worth that is over $100,000, earned through a successful career in the legal industry. Her wealth has also been elevated thanks to the success of her brother, who has an estimated net worth over $3 million. As she continues her endeavors, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.
Early Life
Ayesha’s parents are natives form Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, Indian Muslim descent, who migrated from India to the US, specifically to Davis, California, due to her father’s work as a chemist. There, her elder brother Hasan was born, but the family situation proved unusual, as her mother had to return home to India to complete her medical studies.
As a result, the two siblings didn’t know each other for a few years, and this was because she was conceived back in India when her mother was staying there and her father paid a visit. She grew up with her mother who continued to stay in India for the next eight years for school. She then returned to the United States to live with the rest of her family alongside her mother as she had finally completed her medical related studies.
Education and Career
Minhaj continued her education in the US, and after matriculating from high school, she enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to complete a degree in political science. She completed her degree in 2010, and then began work soon afterwards, as a news associate for the Bay Area station of NBC News. Prior to working there, she had already tried her hand at a summer internship with the company, considered one of the largest news and television networks in the US, and holds the longest running television series in US history, called “Meet the Press”. She stayed with the station for a year, but decided that this was not the career she wanted to continue in.
She returned to school, enrolling at the University of the Pennsylvania Law School to gain a law degree, completing it in 2015, and during the same year was admitted to the State Bar of California. Prior to completing her law degree, she served as a legal intern to the General Counsel’s office in the Greater Los Angeles Area. After completing her degree, she then began working in a law office based in Palo Alto, California. She now works for an international firm based in New York City, as a litigation associate for the Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and their affiliates.
Brother – Hasan Minhaj
Hasan is a comedian, political commentator, writer, producer, actor, and television host, still best known from starting his career as a stand-up comic. He started to gain fame in the comedy circuit and minor television roles before securing his most prominent role in “The Daily Show”, as a senior correspondent from 2014 to 2018, which lead him to become a speaker at the 2017 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
A few of his recent projects include his stand-up comedy specials “Homecoming King”, which was released through Netflix in 2017 to positive reviews. The following year he earned a Peabody Award given to prominent media personalities, then left “The Daily Show” to start working on the Netflix weekly comedy show entitled “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj”. The web series is a variety show that he created alongside Prashanth Venkataramanijam, and is an attempt to separate from the usual political satire shows, and aired for 13 episodes. One of the segments of the show caused controversy in Saudi Arabia, which led to its removal.

Personal Life
For her personal life, not much is known in terms of any of Ayesha’s romantic relationships. Despite her fame, she has managed to keep most details about her life away from the spotlight. The reason she earned fame in the first place was due to one of the segments of her brothers’ stand-up comedy acts, in which he details how he did not know of his sister’s existence until he was eight years old. He was very surprised at how she was introduced to him jokingly by his parents, who had managed to keep his sister a secret for many years.
While she has managed to keep personal information private, she does have some online presence which gives people a bit of an insight into her life. She often posts photos of herself alongside her family members including Hasan. She’s been seen travelling to various locations around the country, and in Europe, and has attended high profile events. She even joins her brother when he organizes events related to comedy or their Indian heritage.
