Completing her studies, she then decided to pursue a modelling career, but discontinued it to focus more on acting, and took drama classes with acting coach Ivana Chubbuck, and soon began to find roles on television.
She appeared in few popular television series as a guest including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “CSI: NY”, and then got her breakthrough in the show “Two and a Half Men” cast as Kandi / Kimber in a recurring role during the series’ third season. Her next big role would come in the same year in the show entitled “Drop Dead Diva”, in which she played Stacy Barrett, appearing in 78 episodes. The Lifetime series stars Brooke Elliot as a plus-size lawyer who has the soul of a fashion model residing inside her body. In 2011, Bowlby then starred in the romantic comedy film “From Prada to Nada”, which is loosely based on the 1800s novel “Sense and Sensibility”. From 2010 onwards, she had more work in guest roles until the end of “Drop Dead Diva” in 2014.
After making guest appearances in “Psych”, “You’re the Words”, and “Mom”, April starred in a few television movies including “The Engagement Clause” and “Marriage of Lies”. The original post was well constructed, making it a believable statement that reached millions of people. However, an official representative of Bowlby later denied the rumors, stating that she is alive and well.
For her personal life, it is known that she was in a relationship with singer Josh Groban in 2009, but which only lasted for a few months. Nothing else has been reported about any relationships since then. She mentioned that her childhood dream was to be a ballerina, so that she could be in the spotlight without ever having to speak, as she had a fear of speaking in public when she was younger. During her free time she enjoys numerous physical activities, including a lot of bicycling and boxing; she also reads a lot.
