Who is Adela Noriega?

Mexican former actress Adela Amalia Noriega Mendez was born in Mexico City, on 24 October 1969, making her zodiac sign Scorpio. She has 18 acting credits, but is probably still best known for playing the lead character Maricruz Fernandez Sarcoser in all 103 episodes of the romantic series “Quinceanera”, which also starred Thalia and Blanca Sanchez, and follows two best friends Beatriz and Maricruz who’ve just turned 15.

Adela retired from acting in 2008.

Education and early life

Adela was raised in Mexico City alongside her younger brother Alejandro and older sister Reyna, by their mother who died from cancer in 1995, and father who died when Adela was a teenager; not many other details have been shared about Adela’s family, as she respects their privacy.

She fell in love with acting at a very early age, and was 11 when she made her debut TV series appearance, portraying Adela in the 1981 comedy “¡¡Cachún cachún ra ra!!”; she was then invited to appear in a number of commercials and music videos, with two of the most popular amongst these having been the 1983 music video “Lucia Mendez: Corazon de Fresa”, and the 1984 music video “Luis Miguel: Palabra de Honor”.

In 1984, Adela portrayed a supporting character in three episodes of the romantic drama “Principessa”, which starred Cecilia Camacho and Iran Eory, aired its 402 episodes from 1984 through 1986, and follows the life of a young woman.

The year 1987 saw her star in the title role in all 25 episodes of the romantic drama “Yesenia”, which also starred Marisa de Lille and Rosario Galvez, and follows a woman who’s fallen in love with a police officer. In 1988 and ‘89, Adela portrayed the lead character Lucero Sandoval in 105 episodes of the romantic drama “Sweet Challenge”, which also starred Eduardo Yanez and Enrique Lizalde, and follows a professor at a boarding school who’s fallen for his student.

In 1993 and ‘94, Adela played Guadalupe in all 209 episodes of the drama “Guadalupe”, which also starred Sheila Korsi and Eduardo Yanez, and follows Guadalupe who’s inherited the fortune of her father who had abandoned her not long after she was born.

Adela was then cast to star in several popular romantic dramas, including the 1995 “Pretty Maria”, the 1998 “Maria Isabel”, and the 1999 “El Privilegio de Amar”. In 2001 and 2002, she starred as Alfonsina Valdes Rivero in all 95 episodes of the romantic drama “The Spring”, which also starred Olivia Bucio and Daniela Romo, and follows Alfonsina and Alejandro who’ve fallen in love despite their families being rivals.

In 2003, Adela portrayed Matilde Penalver in all 95 episodes of the romantic drama “Amor Real”, starring alongside Fernando Colunga and Mauricio Islas. It follows Dr. Fuentes who’s just inherited a fortune, and is now looking for a wife.

Adela had two other TV series roles prior to retiring – she played Virginia Alfaro in all 60 episodes of the 2006 romantic drama “La Esposa Virgen”, and the year 2008 saw her star as Sofia Elizondo Rodriguez in all 206 episodes of the family action “Fuego en la Sangre”, which also starred Eduardo Yanez and Jorge Salinas, and follows three brothers who want vengeance but have instead found love.

Adela’s been staying away from the media’s attention since her retirement, and it remains unknown what she’s been doing for the past 15 years.

Roles in movies

Adela appeared in only two movies, as she spent her career focused on winning roles in TV series.

Her debut was portraying Mary Lou in the 1986 mystery horror thriller “Lovers of the Lord of the Night”, which starred Irma Serrano and Isela Vega, and follows poor Venusita who’s fallen for a boy from a wealthy family, but his mother’s against the relationship.

Adela portrayed Lucia in the 1988 action “Un Sabado Mas”, which directed by Sergio Vejar starred Tatiana and Pedro Fernandez; it follows a group of people as they’re settling their rivalry with a motorcycle race.

Adela shies away from sharing the details of her love life with the public, but we still know about three men whom she’s been with. Sometime in the first half of the ‘90s, she was in a relationship with Eduardo Yanez; he’s a popular Mexican actor with 75 credits, and is perhaps still known best for portraying Mike Toro in the 2004 action crime movie “The Punisher”.

In 1997, Adela dated Venezuelan actor and producer Fernando Carrillo, who’s appeared in nearly 40 movies and TV series and is perhaps still known best for starring alongside Adela in all 124 episodes of the 1998 romantic series “Maria Isabel”.

In 2003 and ‘04, Adela was in a relationship with Mexican actor and stuntman Fernando Colunga, who has 32 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Luis Manrique y Arellano in all 91 episodes of the 2006 romantic series “Alborada”.

Adela seems to be unattached as of August 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
