Who is Laura Flores?

Mexican actress, hostess and singer Laura Aurora Flores Heras was born under the zodiac sign Virgo on 23 August 1963, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She has 66 acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for starring as Camila Rios de Mondragon in all 169 episodes of the 2009 romantic series “In the Name of Love”, which also starred Allisson Lozano and Leticia Calderon, and follows Paloma whose parents have just died in a car accident, leaving her in the care of her aunts.

Laura’s currently shooting for the upcoming series “Vuelve a Mi”.

Education and early life

Laura was raised alongside her brothers Marco and Gerardo in Reynosa, by their father Gerardo Flores and mother Maria Eugenia Heras; her family members were all into music, and were all in members of their own family band Hermanos y Amigos. Laura joined the band aged 17 and they then spent three years touring around Spain, Germany and Mexico.

Laura fell in love with acting during her teenage years and was 16 when she began honing her skills at El Centro de Estudios Artisticos de Televisa; at 17 she made her debut TV series appearance in the 1980 drama “Noche a Noche”, and the same year saw her appear in three episodes of the romantic action series “El Combate”. She’s been active in the film industry ever since.

Laura matriculated in 1981, and then began pursuing acting roles rather than enrolling at college.

Roles in TV series

In 1982 and 1983, Laura played Yolanda in 63 episodes of the drama “En Busca del Paraiso”, which starred Carlos Bracho, Juan Luis Galiardo and Maricruz Olivier, and follows a young woman who’s searching for love. Some of Laura’s notable performances in the remainder of the ‘80s were in the romantic drama “Los Anos Felices”, the drama “Tu Eres Mi Destino” and the romantic drama “Los Anos Pasan”.

In 1991, she played Monica Rochild in 31 episodes of the romantic drama “The Mischievous Dreamer”, which starred Eduardo Palomo and Mariana Levy, and follows a poor girl who’s fallen for a wealthy man.

In 1996, Laura portrayed Sandra Lujan in the popular romantic drama “Marisol”, which also starred Eduardo Santamarina and Erika Buenfil, and follows a scarred girl who’s earning money by selling flowers. Laura could then have been seen appearing in the romantic drama “El Alma no Tiene Color”, the family drama “Gotita de Amor”, and the crime thriller “Mujer, Casos de la vida Real”.

The year 2002 saw her star as Rocio Cantu de Del Rio in 128 episodes of the family comedy “Complices al Rescate”, which also starred Belinda Peregrin and Francisco Gattorno, and follows the lives of two identical twin sisters. Laura starred in several other TV series in the 2000s, including the family comedy “Bajo el Mismo Techo”, the romantic drama “Piel de Otono”, and another romantic drama “Mundo de Fieras”.

In 2012, she starred as Roselena de Torreslanda in all 165 episodes of the romantic drama “A Shelter for Love”, which also starred Zuria Vega and Gabriel Soto, and follows Luciana whose father’s just died and who’s now found love.

Some of Laura’s most recent roles in TV series have been in all 85 episodes of the 2021 drama “Fuego Ardiente”, 67 episodes of the 2022 drama “Until Money Do Us Part”, and the 2023 episode “Secretos de Familia” of the drama “Amores que Enganan”.

Roles in movies

Laura’s debut film role was playing Anabel in the 1983 drama “Preparatoria”, and some of her following roles were in the 1984 musical “Siempre en Domingo”, another 1984 musical “Juntos”, and the 1985 romantic drama “Caribe: Symphony of Love”.

In 1988, Laura played one of the main characters Rosa Maria in the popular action crime horror “Bestia Nocturna”, which also starred Eric del Castillo and Raymundo Capetillo, and was written and directed by Humberto Martinez Mijares. It follows a sadist who’s disguised himself as a soldier, and has begun attacking women in a small town.

Laura appeared in three movies in the ‘90s: the fantasy comedy “Dos Fantasmas Sinverguenzas”, and the musical “Los Temerarios” both in 1993, and the 1999 action adventure “A Christmas Carol”.

Her following film role came in 2017, when cast to voice Ana in the animated family drama “El Angel en el Reloj”, which starred Erick Elias and Leonardo de Lozanne, and was written and directed by Miguel Angel Uriegas. It follows an ill girl whose only wish is to stop time; the movie won one of its two award nominations.

Laura’s since appeared in only one movie, playing Monica in the 2021 mystery horror “MELANCOLiA”.

Other credits

Laura composed the music for the 2018 documentary film “Arturo Peniche: Entregate”.

Some of her recent talk-show and game-show appearances have been in “Noches con Platanito”, “Quien es la Mascara?” and “MasterChief Celebrity Mexico”.

Laura’s won one of her 10 award nominations: a 1983 Premios TVyNovelas Award for Best Female Revelation, for her performance in “El Derecho de Nacer”.

Love life and marriages

Laura rarely speaks about her love life in public, but we know that she’s been married thrice and has four children. Her first husband was non-celebrity Mexican Miguel Duran, however, no details have been disclosed about Miguel, and the dates of their wedding and divorce remain undisclosed.

Laura exchanged vows with famous Uruguayan singer-songwriter Sergio Fachelli in 1986, but they divorced in 1989.

The year 1998 saw her marry her third husband, Mexican non-celebrity Jose Ramon Diez, and she went on to give birth to their sons Patricio and Alejandro and daughters Maria and Ana Sofia, however, Laura and Jose divorced in 2007.

There are no other men whom Laura’s perhaps been with, that we know about; she seems to be unattached as of September 2023, has been married thrice and has four children with her third husband Jose Ramon Diez.

For her contributions to music and television, Laura’s had her handprints embedded at the Mexico City’s Paseo de las Luminarias.

Laura’s still today physically active, and works out at the gym nearly every day, as it’s required for her career to stay in shape.
