Who is Travis Bennett?

American actor and DJ Travis Bennett was born under the zodiac sign Taurus on 16 May 1994, in California, USA. He has 15 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Omar in the 2023 romantic comedy movie “You People”, which starred Lauren London, Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill, and was written and directed by Kenya Barris. It follows a newlywed couple and their families as they’re examining modern love amidst generational differences, societal expectations and clashing cultures.

Travis is also popular for being a member of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, a hip hop music collective which was formed back in 2007 by a number of rappers and singers, such as Left Brain, Casey Veggies and Tyler, the Creator.

Education and early life

Travis was raised alongside his older brother Syd in California, by their mother Janel and father whose name remains undisclosed; his brother Syd’s a popular American singer-songwriter, and is also a member of Odd Future.

Travis was 12 years old when he met famous American rapper and record producer Tyler, the Creator; Tyler began recording music at Travis’ home a couple of years later, which led to Travis joining Odd Future.

He studied at a local high school and was perhaps mostly into playing soccer and appearing in school plays during his time there; upon matriculating in 2012, Travis focused on his career and didn’t enroll at college.

Travis hasn’t attracted a lot of attention in the music industry because he’s remained in the shadow of other Odd Future members; it’s known that he’s been a DJ for around 10 years now, and that he’s contributed to live performances and projects of Odd Future.

Roles in TV series

Travis’ debut TV series role was playing Taco in the 2011 episode “Heist School” of the comedy “Workaholics”, which starred Anders Holm, Adam Devine and Blake Anderson, who also all together created the series. It features three friends as they’re working as telemarketers, the series aired from 2011 through 2017 and was nominated for six awards.

From 2012 through 2014, Travis portrayed various characters in the comedy “Loiter Squad”, which starred Davon Wilson and Tyler the Creator, and was created by Lionel Boyce; it features members of Odd Future starring in short comedy videos.

In 2023, Travis portrayed Ahmed in the episode “IV” of the popular comedy “History of the World: Part II”, which starred Mel Brooks, Ike Barinholtz and Nick Kroll, and explores various important historical events.

Travis’ only other TV series role has been playing Elz in 25 episodes of the popular musical comedy “Dave”, which stars Gata, Andrew Santino and Dave Burd, and was created by Jeff Schaffer. It follows a man in his 20s who believes that he will become a famous rapper, the series has been airing since 2020 and has won one of its 11 award nominations.

Roles in movies

Travis’ debut film role was starring as Taco in the 2011 music video “Tyler, the Creator Feat. Jasper and Taco: Bitch Suck Dick”, and the same year saw him appear in the music video “Kreayshawn: Gucci Gucci”.

He featured in two music videos in the following year: “Fastlane” and “Odd Future: Oldie”, and the year 2013 saw him featured in another music video, “Tyler, the Creator: Domo 23”. In 2022, Travis made an appearance in “Tyler, the Creator: Fucking Young”.

His only other film role has been playing Breez in the popular 2022 crime mystery comedy “Confess, Fletch”, which starred Roy Wood Jr, Caitlin Zerra Rose and Jon Hamm, and was written and directed by Greg Mottola. It follows Fletch who’s become the main suspect for multiple murders; the movie was nominated for three awards.

Other credits

Travis directed three music videos in 2010: “Tyler, the Creator: Bastard”, “Tyler, the Creator: French!” and “V. C. R”.

He voiced The Local Population in the critically acclaimed 2013 video game “Grand Theft Auto V”.

Travis wrote 13 episodes of the 2013 TV series “Loiter Squad”.

Some of his recent talk-show appearances have been in “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, “IMDb on the Scene – Interviews” and “The Jennifer Hudson Show”.

Love life and girlfriend

Travis shies away from speaking about his love life in public, but we know that he was once in a relationship with social media star Christina Nadin.
