Who is Jacqueline Bracamontes?

Mexican actress and former model Jacqueline Bracamontes Van Hoorde, was born under the zodiac sign Capricorn on 23 December 1979, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She has 19 acting credit,s and is perhaps still known best for playing Maribel de la Fuente in all 115 episodes of the critically acclaimed 2004 adventure family series “Rubi”, which starred Eduardo Santamarina and Barbara Mori, and follows an ambitious woman from a humble background who’s determined to find a wealthy man to marry.

Jacqueline’s also known for having been crowned Nuestra Belleza Jalisco and Nuestra Belleza Mexico in 2000, which led to her representing Mexico in the 2001 Miss Universe pageant.

Education and early life

Jacqueline was raised in Guadalajara alongside her younger brother Jesus Jr. and younger sister Alina, by their mother Jacqueline Van Hoorde who’s a housewife and father Jesus Bracamontes Zenizo who was once the coach of the soccer team Chivas, and is today a soccer analyst working for the network Univision.

Jacqueline studied at a local high school in Guadalajara and was into several activities during her time there, as she took dancing, singing and piano lessons; she also enjoyed playing soccer and tennis.

Upon matriculating in 1998, Jacqueline launched her career as a model, and was featured on the cover page of several Mexican magazines; it was former Miss Universe Lupita Jones who noticed her on a magazine cover and advised her to enter the beauty pageant Nuestra Belleza Mexico.

Jacqueline’s debut TV series role was playing a supporting character in the 2000 comedy “La Hora Pico”, and the year 2002 saw her appear in the family comedy “Complices al Rescate”, the romantic drama “Entre el Amor y el Odio” and the family drama “Vivan los Ninos!”

In 2003 and 2004, she starred as Angelica Rivas in all 137 episodes of the family fantasy musical “Alegrijes y Rebujos”, which also starred Miguel de Leon and Rosa Maria Bianchi, and follows a group of children as they’re exploring a haunted mansion. Jacqueline could then have been seen appearing in an episode of both the crime thriller “Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real” and the romantic comedy “La Fea Mas Bella”, and the year 2006 saw her star as Miranda San Llorente de Aragon in the romantic drama “Heridas de Amor”, which also starred Enrique Lizalde and Guy Ecker, and follows the life of heiress Miranda San Llorente.

Some of Jacqueline’s roles in the remainder of the 2000s were in the romantic drama “Al Diablo con los Guapos”, the romantic comedy “Las Tontas no van al Cielo” and the romantic drama “Sortilegio”.

Jacqueline’s debut film role was playing Hermana Lucia in the 2007 drama “Unexpected Things”, which starred Marcela Guirado and Alejandro Tommasi, and was written and directed by Antonio Pelaez; the movie follows the life of renowned orchestra conductor Sebastian who’s just lost his son in a car accident.

Jacqueline’s appeared in just three other movies; she played one of the lead characters in the 2015 romantic comedy “Entrenando a mi Papa”, and the following year saw her star as Alma in the comedy “The Patriarch”, which also starred Gabriel Nuncio and Hector Bonilla, and was directed by Raul Martinez. It follows Francisco who’s taken in his father Don Servando Villegas now that he’s been expelled from his retirement home, and the movie was nominated for two awards.

In 2021, Jacqueline reprised her role as Alma in the comedy “Grumpy Christmas”, which is the sequel to the mentioned film “The Patriarch”.

She and Mexican businessman and racecar driver Martin Fuentes exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony on 1 October 2011, in front of their closest friends and family members. Jacqueline revealed on 12 November 2012 that she was pregnant, and gave birth to their twins Martin and Jacqueline on 29 March 2013, but Martin died from respiratory complications at birth. She gave birth to their second daughter Carolina on 9 July 2014, and to their third daughter Renata on 15 July 2016; Jacqueline and Martin welcomed their twins Paula and Emilia on 20 December 2018.
