Sergio Mayer Mori – Wiki, Bio

Mexican singer-songwriter Sergio Mayer Mori was born under the zodiac sign Aquarius in Mexico City on 7 February 1998. He’s known for a couple of things, including his portrayal of the lead character Rene in the popular 2016 movie “The Patriarch”, which also starred Hector Bonilla and Camila Selser, and was directed by Raul Martinez. It follows Don Servando who’s been expelled from his retirement home and has been taken in by his son Francisco; the film was nominated for two awards.

Sergio’s also known for being the only child of famous Uruguayan-Mexican actress Barbara Mori Ochoa, who has 33 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring as Luisa Braniff in the 2011 action thriller movie “Against the Wind”, as well for her portrayal of the lead character Rubi in the hit 2004 telenovela “Rubi”.

Education and early life

Sergio was raised in Mexico City by his mother Barbara, and father Sergio Mayer who’s also a successful Mexican actor and model – he’s appeared in 54 movies and TV series and is perhaps known best for playing Joel in the 2004 drama movie “Mentira”, in which he starred alongside Martha Acuna and Veronica de la Campa.

Sergio was passionate about multiple things while growing up, as he was into sports, enjoyed appearing in school plays, and was a member of a school band. He was seven when his parents enrolled him at acting school, and he soon also began showing an interest in music.

Upon matriculating from a local high school in 2016, Sergio moved to Boston, Massachusetts USA and enrolled at Berklee College of Music, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2020; he can today play the guitar, saxophone and piano.

Sergio’s debut film role was playing Fer in the 2011 action thriller “Against the Wind”, which starred his mother Barbara, Alejandro Calva and Fernando Lujan, and was directed by Walter Doehner. It follows a woman who’s been framed for a multi-million dollar fraud, and the movie won a 2012 Premios Canacine Award for Best Actress, for Barbara Mori.

In 2016, Sergio portrayed Hugo in the popular thriller “Mujeres Infieles 4”, which starred Alan Ciangherotti and Isabella Camil, and was directed by Ivan Cuevas. It follows various people staying at a luxurious hotel in Mexico.

In 2017, Sergio played the lead character Adrian in the drama “El Diario de una Prostita 2”, which also starred Liliana Durazo and Carlo Guerra, and was directed by Ivan Cuevas; it follows the lives of a prostitute and several men who are her regular customers.

Sergio’s only other film role has been portraying a supporting character in the 2023 crime drama “Upon Open Sky”, which starred Manolo Cardona and Julio Bracho, and was directed by Santiago and Mariana Arriaga. It follows two teenage brothers and their step-sister who are on their way to the Mexico-US border to have their revenge against the man responsible for their father’s death; the film was nominated for a 2023 Venice Film Festival Horizons Award for Best Film.

Roles in TV series

Sergio’s appeared in only two TV series. His debut was portraying Eddie in the 2014 episode “Una Sola Mano no Aplaude” of the drama “Como Dice el Dicho”, which starred Brisa Carrillo and Sergio Corona, and follows the real lives of several people from Mexico City.

In 2022, Sergio played Esteban Torres in 12 episodes of the musical comedy “Rebelde”, which starred Franco Masini and Azul Guaita, and follows a group of teenagers who’ve just enrolled at Elite Way School; it was nominated for two awards.

Other credits

In 2015, Sergio made a guest appearance in the popular Mexican musical comedy talk-show “Noches con Platanito”, which stars Sergio Verduzco and David Villalpando, with each episode featuring several celebrities answering some of their fans’ most frequently asked questions.

Sergio was nominated for a 2017 Mexican Cinema Journalists Silver Goddess Award for Best Newcomer – Male for “The Patriarch”.

Love life and relationships

Sergio rarely speaks about his love life in public but it’s widely known that he was a married man. He and Brazilian model, actress and singer-songwriter Natalia da Silva Subtil began dating in January 2016, moved in together a month later, and married in the same year – she gave birth to their daughter Mila Mayer Subtil on 21 November 2016. Sergio and Natalia separated in the summer of 2017 and their divorce was finalized by the end of the year.

It’s widely believed that Sergio’s today in a relationship with a non-celebrity Mexican woman, as several of his fans have claimed to have seen them spending time together; no evidence has been provided to support these claims, nor has Sergio taken the time to address these.

He seems to be unattached as of September 2023, was once married and has a daughter with former wife Natalia da Silva Subtil.

Sergio’s quite popular on Instagram, as close to a million people are following him on the network today, even though he’s posted only nine pictures; most of these feature him during his everyday life, whether he’s playing the guitar, shopping for clothes or doing modelling work.
