Calysta Brever was born on the 17th September 1999 in Grand Rapids, Ohio USA, and from an early age was interested in music, as she started singing at the early age of three.
As she got older, Calysta became better, and determined to pursue a career in music. However, during one family summer vacation, her mother noticed a huge lump on her stomach, and after testing, it was discovered that Calysta had stage three ovarian cancer. She was immediately operated on over several hours, and doctors took out a near five pounds cancer. After the successful surgery, she continued with chemotherapy and after further tests, Calysta’s cancer was in remission.
This was in 2015, and since then, she hasn’t had any problems with the terrible disease. During her stay at the hospital, she spent it singing, honing her skills. Once she was declared cancer-free, she decided to try her luck and become a professional singer.
Career Beginnings
Calysta moved to Los Angeles, California, where she auditioned for the 11th season of the popular show “America’s Got Talent”. In the preliminary audition, Simon Cowell was so impressed by her story, fight, singing talent and Calysta on the whole, he pressed the golden buzzer and send her directly into the semi-finals.
However, Calysta was eliminated in the second week of the semifinals, but that wasn’t the end of her music career, as she signed a recording deal with a talent agency, and has since released her own music.
