After graduating from several acting courses, Daren started auditioning for series, films and TV roles, and managed to impress famous producer Brenda Hampton, so she instantly picked him to be the main cast member in the ABC Family’s “Secret Life of the American Teenager”, in which Daren played the role of Ricky Underwood. The series had huge success, and ran for five seasons of 121 episodes. On 24 February 2013 Daren was announced in the role of Alex in the pilot episode of FOX’s “Delirium”, the series which was based on Lauren Oliver’s eponymous novel.

However, the pilot episode was actually unsuccessful with the audience, so the episode became a TV film, not a series. Later Daren got the role of Trevor in the horror movie about supernatural events entitled “Ouija” (2014), in which he shared the screen with “Bates Motel” star Olivia Cooke, and Ana Coto, a young actress from Puerto Rico.
